Company Information
Thousand Oaks Radiology has been the premier regional imaging center since 1981.
Our friendly technologists are licensed by the State of California and professional associations. Many members of our technical staff have been with the company for over 10 years, and a few have been on staff since our inception. Patient care is their number one priority, and they have been known to "go the extra mile" for patient comfort.
Our administrative staff and patient service coordinators are eager to assist with any part of the process, from scheduling to result delivery.
Increasingly, insurance carriers require pre-certification for exams. Our offices are available for pre-authorization assistance.
A Brief History
THOUSAND OAKS
Dr. Terry Turkat founded Los Robles Radiology Associates shortly after the opening of Los Robles Regional Medical Center in 1968. At that time, the imaging equipment and the radiologists were located in the Radiology department at the hospital.
Dr. Turkat noted that many patients were in need of additional outpatient services. In 1981, starting with X-Ray, Mammography and Ultrasound, Dr. Terry Turkat founded the Thousand Oaks Radiology Group outpatient facility. This imaging center provided support for the hospital and physicians offices in the surrounding area.
As new technology emerged, in conjunction with Los Robles Hospital, the group installed the FIRST CT SCANNER in the region. Subsequently the group installed the FIRST MRI IN VENTURA COUNTY under the name Conejo MRI. This equipment is state-of-the-art, as it has been continually updated and replaced with best equipment available.
Thousand Oaks Radiology is proud to offer the latest CT scanner technology: 64 slice, G.E. Lightspeed - producing the clearest images possible for accurate assessment. And it's extremely fast, allowing some studies to be completed in as little as 5 minutes. This is the first machine that allows accurate, non-invasive evaluation of the coronary arteries.
All of the Thousand Oaks Radiology facilities and Los Robles Hospital are linked electronically so that images can be compared with prior examinations and consultations with other subspecialty radiologists can be quickly obtained.
CAMARILLO
The Camarillo-Los Robles Imaging Center (CLIC) opened in December of 2006. Before the Camarillo facility opened, the closest outpatient imaging center was located in Oxnard. Many elderly patients could not drive the distance, and the medical community was relieved when we opened our doors.
There were over 130 attendees at the Open House in March of 2007, many of whom were physicians. To date, CLIC's friendly "local" atmosphere attracts patients from all over Ventura county.
LOS ROBLES HOSPITAL
We are proud to be the Radiological Services for the Los Robles Regional Medical Center (LRRMC). LRRMC has CT, MRI, Ultrasound, X-Ray, Fluoroscopy and a host of other imaging equipment. Radiologists are on-site, prepared for any emergent situation and regular in-patient schedules.
The on-site radiologists routinely assist in surgery, perform interventional procedures, and are available to meet with physicians to discuss patient issues. Our group is pleased to provide the highest quality imaging for patients being evaluated in the Los Robles Hospital Emergency Department.
GAMMA KNIFE CENTER
Also located on the Los Robles Campus, is the Gamma Knife Center. This facility is one of a limited number of centers world wide. The Gamma Knife technology allows minimally invasive treatment of brain tumors and other conditions for which surgery might not be an option. Conejo MRI/CT performs the preoperative "mapping" of cancerous tumors prior to the Gamma Knife procedure. The MRI or CT images are then transmitted electronically to the Gamma Knife center and our radiologists work directly with the treating physicians.
